Authors Discuss Saga of Randy “Duke” Cunningham

Alison St John (Guest Host): Probably like many of you listening, I can still remember the day I read an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune by Marcus Stern of the Copley News Service. It was called Lawmaker's Home Sale Questioned and it was about how a defense contractor had taken a $700,000 loss on the Del Mar home of former congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham. That was on June 12 th 2005, exactly two years ago today.

That story eventually brought Cunningham's career to an ignominious end and brought Stern and the team of reporters that broke the story the Pulitzer prize.

Those journalists have written a book called The Wrong Stuff: The Extraordinary Saga of Randy "Duke" Cunningham, the Most Corrupt Congressman Ever Caught.  

Marcus, Dean and George will be discussing and signing copies of The Wrong Stuff tonight at 7 p.m. at Bay Books in Coronado, and on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Book Works in Del Mar.
