DarkBlueAlmostBlack (Strand Releasing)
The Media Arts Center San Diego presents its final installment of this years Cinema en tu Idioma this week with Spains DarkBlueAlmostBlack (yes thats the way the filmmaker writes his title) and Brazils Love for Sale (opening Nov. 9 at the UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas in Hazard Center). The films will play in rotation for the next week.
In the press materials DarkBlueAlmostBlack , director Daniel Sanchez Arevalo states: Oliver Stone, you have no idea how much damage you caused me. Thats because Sanchez Arevalo majored in business administration and wanted to be a broker like Gordon Gekko, the Michael Douglas character in Oliver Stones Wall Street . Now Sanchez Arevalo offers us the character of Jorge, a young man with a business degree and a seeming inability to put it to use in DarkBlueAlmostBlack.
