Surf Orpheus Puts Southern California Twist on Greek Classic

Tom Fudge: The story of the Greek god Orpheus is well-known to classical scholars, but not so well known to surfers, but that hasn't prevented two people from creating a play that places Orpheus on the beach. The play, called Surf Orpheus , opens tonight at the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theater on the La Jolla Playhouse. It's a production of UCSD'S Theater and Dance Department .
Surf Orpheus opens May 13 at the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theater on the La Jolla Playhouse campus. The show runs through Saturday, May 17.
