Hosted by Grammy-winning musician and storyteller David Holt, "Trains Around North America" traces America's railroad history, telling the unforgettable stories of the continent's historic and scenic tourist railroads. More than just a tour, these stories capture railroads as they defined the spirit of North America, creating a new industry and re-writing transportation history. The program transports viewers to a variety of railways - from quiet and relaxing trains featuring spectacular meals and views, to fast-paced trains full of glitz, glamour and movie stars.
Railroads featured in the program include: Lake Superior Railway Museum/ North Shore Scenic RR; Royal Canadian Pacific; Filmore and Western RR; Alberni Pacific Railway; Hiwassee River Rail Adventure; New Hope and Ivyland RR; Columbia Star Dinner Train; Western Maryland Scenic RR; Wilmington and Western RR; Grand Canyon RR; Saratoga & North Creek; Texas State RR; Rio Grande Scenic RR; Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad; White Pass & Yukon; Great Smoky Mts RR; and Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train.
