LOS ANGELES —The three-day California Democratic Party convention will begin Friday at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles with a series of committee and caucus meetings.
Delegates will finalize statewide, congressional and legislative endorsements and adopt the 2014 party platform Sunday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Gov. Jerry Brown, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley are scheduled to speak at general session Saturday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., will speak at a luncheon Saturday, while San Antonio, Texas Mayor Julian Castro and Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, will speak at a dinner Saturday.
More than 3,000 delegates, officials, exhibitors and observers are expected to attend.
