A motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital, and a Lakeside-area highway was shut down in both directions following a collision between a motorcycle and a big rig early Tuesday, authorities said.
The crash on state Route 67 at Slaughterhouse Canyon was reported at 6:26 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A SigAlert was immediately issued, with both north- and southbound lanes of the highway being closed for the investigation and cleanup.
Northbound and southbound SR-67 at Slaughterhouse Canyon were reopened by 8 a.m.
