Ten U.S. sailors who were briefly held this month by Iranian authorities returned to San Diego Friday, according to Navy officials.

The sailors were from the Coastal Riverine Squadron 3, which is based in San Diego. The sailors deployed to Bahrain in the Middle East 10 months ago from Naval Air Station North Island, according to Coastal Riverine Group One's Facebook page.

The Navy said the sailors were in "good health." They are in their final phase of reintegration, including reuniting with their families.

"Our Sailors are being reintegrated with dignity and professionalism," said Rear Adm. Frank Morneau in a news release. "My top priority is the health, welfare and well-being of our Shipmates as they return to duty."

The sailors were detained in Iran for less than 24 hours when their boats drifted into Iranian waters.
