The Senate is opening its first hearing on young immigrants known as "Dreamers" since President Donald Trump announced plans to end a program protecting them — and called on Congress to come up with a solution.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa opened the hearing Tuesday saying that the program created by President Barack Obama was unconstitutional. It has granted temporary work permits and deportation protections for nearly 800,000 immigrants brought to the country as children and living here illegally.

Grassley says that "We all have empathy for young people who came here through no fault of their own." He says it's time to start considering "a path to consensus."
He says a plan "has to include robust border security, and by that, I don't mean a wall."
