On this episode, our journey begins outside Mexico City at the famous pyramids of Teotihuacan. Built nearly 2000 years ago, these towering archeological structures were once the center of industry in Mesoamerican culture. We climb to the top of one of the pyramids and along the way imagine what life was like in this city for its ancient residents. Then back in the capital, we take a leisurely boat ride down the canals of Xochimilco, and dine in a restaurant whose interior is reflective of Mexico’s colonial past.
