Diary of a Mad Black Woman

Playwright Tyler Perry moves to the big screen with Diary of a Mad Black Woman (opening throughout San Diego on February 25) and he also takes on a trio of acting roles.

Tyler Perry adapts his play Diary of a Mad Black Woman to the screen with Darren Grant as director. The story revolves around Helen (the lovely Kimberly Elise)the soon to be mad black womanwhose diary keeps us posted on the ups and downs of her life. After an elegant dinner honoring her successful lawyer husband Charles (Steve Harris), the seemingly happy couple head home to a luxurious mansion. But Charles has a surprise for Helen, hes dumping her in favor of a younger woman with whom he has apparently fathered two children. After 18 years of marriage, this comes as something of a shock to Helen. But Charles has no time to help Helen through her confusion. He simply packs her belongings into a U-Haul truck and literally throws her out of the house.
