13th Annual Critics' Choice Award Nominations

Julie Christie in Away From Her (Lions Gate)

Sarah Polley's drama about a couple dealing with Alzheimer's, Away From Her , won honors for best first film with Julie Christie taking home best actress. Daniel Day-Lewis won best actor for Paul Thomas Anderson's oil saga There Will Be Blood , which also won a best cinematography award for Robert Elswit. Charles Ferguson's investigation into the Iraq War, No End in Sight, took home best nonfiction film.

The BFCA, the largest film critics' organization in the United States and Canada, boasts almost 200 members from television, radio and online critics. The Critics' Choice Awards were created by the BFCA to recognize excellence in cinematic achievement. Eligible films were released in 2007.
