MySpace.com is teaming up with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The popular social networking site will now distribute Amber alerts to notify members about children missing in their communities.

The online notices will be sent to members in the ZIP code where the alerts are issued. They'll include photos of the missing children and descriptions of any suspects.

MySpace is also rolling out two new features to protect member privacy. One is an e-mail verification feature. The other is a tool designed to prevent adults from contacting members under 18 years of age, and vice versa.
