We’ll talk with two local collectors who have made it their mission to find and share the artwork of artists and craftsmen who worked in San Diego during the 1950s and ‘60s.

Collecting San Diego’s Mid-Century Modern Artists and Craftsmen

Tom Fudge: Viva Objects is an art show taking place in downtown San Diego this weekend. And it is a statement of the passion and obsession of two San Diego collectors. Dave Hampton and Ron Kerner are the founders of a group called Objects USA. And for many years they've been collecting mid-century objects of art, many of them made by San Diego artists and craftsmen. They've collected sculpture, ceramics, wood carvings, glasses and bowls. You name it.

The show Viva Objects will be on view this weekend at 1946 Broadway, right next to Influx coffee shop. There will be an opening reception Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
