Music, food, and a new play top this week's list for what to do in San Diego this weekend.

Alison St John (Guest Host): Time to look ahead to the weekend! David Coddon, assistant arts editor for the San Diego Union-Tribune is here to bring you hot tips on cool music, a new club in Little Italy, the Independence Jam and the new series starting on HBO filmed in Imperial Beach.

Moxie Theater’s play Devil Dog Six opens Saturday at the Lyceum Theater in Horton Plaza.

Anthology, a new jazz supper club, opens this weekend in Little Italy.

The Ravoenettes play the Casbah Saturday night. Showtime is 8:30 p.m.

The 94.9 Miller Lite Independence Jam takes place this Sunday at 2 p.m. at Devore Stadium Field at Southwestern College in Chula Vista.

John From Cincinnati debuts on HBO this Sunday night, right after the Sopranos’ season finale.
