A Marine was found dead in the barracks at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego early this morning.
Base spokeswoman Janice Hagar told San Diego television station NBC 7/39 that information about the Marine's sex, age, rank, or name would not yet be released to the media. She did confirm, though, that the dead Marine was not a recruit.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, is investigating the death, according to U-T San Diego.
