Army Captain Killed In Afghanistan

Army Capt. James D. Nehl died November 9 in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense. Nehl was shot to death while on patrol during combat operations.

The 37-year-old Nehl was from Gardiner, Oregon.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley in Kansas.
