US Soldier In Kuwait Dies After Run, Army Investigating

The Army is investigating the death of Sgt. Lyle D. Turnbull, 31, in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

According to the Department of Defense, Turnbull died October 18 from a "medical emergency."

He was assigned to the 62nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 11th Signal Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas.

LTC John P. Gregor wrote on the 62nd Signal Battalion Facebook page that Turnbull died after a run:

"SGT Lyle Turnbull, of C Company, passed away on 18 October 2013 at Camp Arifjan while participating in the Army Ten Miler Shadow Run. As of 19 October, his family has been notified, and I would ask you to please keep SGT Turnbull’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days."

According to Turnbull's Facebook page, he was originally from Charlotte Amalie, United States Virgin Islands. Turnbull also briefly studied studied Psychology at Central Texas College.
