Sheriff's deputies reached out to the public Wenesday for help identifying a man who approached high school and elementary school students in Imperial Beach.

Witnesses said the man approached students from Mar Vista High School at around 2:45 p.m. Monday, according to the sheriff's department. The man offered students information about an after-school program and a chance to earn extra credit and enter to win a free iPad.

Sheriff's officials said the man is not an employee of the school district and did not have any identification.
