This December, “Christmas With The Tabernacle Choir” returns to PBS for the 16th consecutive year with Kristin Chenoweth, the Emmy® and Tony® Award-winning actress and singer. The beloved Choir Christmas special has been the No. 1 holiday program on PBS for 14 of the past 15 years.
Chenoweth’s wit, charm, and artistic diversity are on full display when she joins the iconic Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells on Temple Square for an unforgettable night of music, dancing, and storytelling.
In addition to beloved Christmas carols, the program features a range of genres, with songs from Broadway, Hollywood, pop, country, classical and Christian/gospel, including “We Need a Little Christmas” from “Mame,” “O Holy Night,” “Angels Among Us,” “What Child Is This?” and “Somewhere in My Memory” from “Home Alone.”
The eclectic repertoire combines the artistry of the Choir and Orchestra with Chenoweth’s many strengths to showcase the wide range of emotions the holiday season evokes, from nostalgia and laughter to reverence and peace.
Chenoweth joins a cast of over 600 volunteers who give their time and talents each December as a gift to the millions of viewers for these annual television broadcasts.
