The Department of Defense has identified the California-based sailor who died at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti on April 7th as Constructionman Trevor J. Stanley, 22, of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The Department of Defense reported his death yesterday, but did not release his name until family had been notified.

Stanley was a Seabee assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3, which is homeported in Port Hueneme, California.

The Stars and Stripes reported that co-workers found Stanley dead on Saturday in the Seabees’ equipment yard on Camp Lemonnier.

The Navy is investigating the incident.
