GUESTS:

Troy Johnson, food critic, San Diego Magazine

Transcript

San Diego's dining scene is serving a variety of new food options in 2018.

Among the dozens of new and upcoming restaurants is a farm-to-table eatery with on-site childcare, an East Coast-style pizzeria in a former beauty salon and a gelato shop in an old dry cleaning store.

With the legalization of recreational marijuana in the state, cannabis-infused dinner parties are also expected to become popular.

Wednesday on Midday Edition, Pam Kragen of The San Diego Union-Tribune and San Diego food critic Troy Johnson discuss the most anticipated food trends to dominate the local dining scene in 2018.
