Several County Offices To Close Monday Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

The San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk's Office announced Friday that it will be closing its doors to the public starting Monday and suspending all over-the-counter services amid the coronavirus pandemic.

  • What is coronavirus?
    The novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, is a virus that can infect animals and humans. It causes a range of respiratory illness, fever, cough and in more severe cases can cause pneumonia and even death.

    The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure: fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

The office reported that it is taking the step in accordance with a County Health Officer order regarding COVID-19.

"San Diego County residents are encouraged to visit our website www.SDARCC.com for online services and forms that can be completed by mail," said Ernest J. Dronenburg Jr., county Assessor/Recorder/Clerk. "Our staff is continuing to provide great customer service by processing all electronic and mail submissions during this crisis to limit interruption to the public."

The following services will still be available by phone, mail, online and via email:

— Document recording services (only by mail and through E-recordings)

— Vital records requests: birth, death and marriage records (by mail or online)

— Fictitious business name statements (by mail)

— Copies of official records (by mail or online)

— Notary public registrations (by mail)

— Authentications (by mail)
