San Diego's Desert Residents Wake Up To Frost Advisory

Near freezing temperatures and areas of frost in San Diego County's deserts overnight and early Wednesday could kill uncovered sensitive outdoor plants, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory for wind-sheltered desert areas including Borrego Springs, which was set to remain in effect until 9 a.m.

Mostly clear and very dry conditions will allow temperatures to fall into the 30s in the lower desert areas, the NWS said.

NWS meteorologists said pets should be brought indoors, and sensitive plants may be damaged or killed if left uncovered.
