Two Twentynine Palms Marines are in custody this morning after police found explosives in the back of their truck at a Redondo Beach shopping center.

Camp Pendleton Patch has identified the two Marines as Devin Gajewski, 24, and Thomas Bazer, 20. Earlier reports that the explosives were from Camp Pendleton were erroneous, according to Patch.

The Marines were detained at the South Bay Galleria. Shopper Lisa Williams told Los Angeles television station KTLA:

"We went up to them, and we were going to tell them 'thank you' for supporting our country, and we asked them what's wrong and they told us to get away from them... that something's wrong and we need to leave because the cops are coming."

According to Camp Pendleton Patch, an explosives robot from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was used to examine the contents of the Marine's pickup truck bed. The truck bed contained a stun grenade.

NCIS is investigating the incident.
