These comprehensive cooking guides will teach you the core techniques behind classic American dishes. You will also learn what equipment and which ingredients are absolutely essential in the preparation of these classic recipes. Each guide also lists our all-time best recipes so you can find just the recipe you want.

In season six, test kitchen chefs Bridget Lancaster, Julia Collin Davison and Erin McMurrer prepare a variety of blue-ribbon specialties and American classics with host Christopher Kimball.

Recipes include: Atlanta brisket, South Dakota corncob-smoked ribs, beignets, peaches and cream pie, Chinese chicken salad and meatloaf.

In addition, Kimball introduces educational "Food History" segments, Jack Bishop challenges Kimball to taste — and rank — supermarket staples, Adam Ried recommends household equipment, and Kimball and Lancaster share practical test kitchen tips and techniques.

"Sweet On Texas" - Test cook Bridget Lancaster reveals the secrets to a Texas favorite, Tres Leches Cake.

Then, tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges host Christopher Kimball to a tasting of sweetened condensed milk. And finally, test cook Julia Collin Davison shows Chris how to make Magic Chocolate Flan Cake.
