Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible in portions of San Diego County Thursday, along with cooler weather, following a strong storm overnight in the deserts and mountains.
National Weather Service meteorologists said "Mother Nature put on quite a show," with a strong thunderstorm that dumped hail on our local deserts and mountains along with winds of up to 30 mph and almost continuous lightning.
Forecasters said the coast will be mostly cloudy throughout the day with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms Thursday morning. Temperatures have cooled off significantly thanks to a weak low pressure system that will drift across Southern California through Friday.
Thursday, mostly cloudy conditions are expected, along with high temperatures of 77 to 82 degrees along the coast, 83 to 88 degrees inland, 79 to 84 degrees in the valleys, 74 to 80 degrees in the mountains and around 92 degrees in the deserts.
On Friday, highs are expected to range from 75 to 80 degrees near the beaches, 81 to 86 degrees inland, 77 to 82 in the valleys, 72 to 77 in the mountains and around 89 degrees in the deserts.
Forecasters said the cooler and humid weather should persist over the weekend followed by much warmer weather again from early to the middle of next week.
