San Diego closed many indoor activities Monday after being placed on the state’s monitoring list — in-restaurant dining, theatres, bowling alleys. And some museums, like the San Diego Museum of Art, never had a chance to welcome visitors again.

But, there’s still some activities you can indulge in. The best part is they’re all free, which is the best kind of fun:

Although libraries remained closed to patrons, books, movies and CDs are available for door-side pickup now at all 33 public library branches. Online material is available 24/7, including audio books, eBooks, videos of SDPL librarians reading children’s stories, and online learning programs through Lynda.com and SDPL virtual programs.

For competitive types, sign up for the Library’s Summer Learning Challenge to track your reading progress, write book reviews and complete learning challenges.

Summer Movies In The Park (now Summer Movies at Home for the time being) kicks off Saturday, July 11 with “Trolls World Tour.” Families can stream the film and download an interactive activity kit with movie-themed activities.

Finally, plenty of trails and parks are open for hiking, seeing local birds and butterflies, fishing and biking. Some of the trails have self-guided tours called Track Trails — while on the tour, users track their progress via a brochure then report it online.

Indoor facilities at parks are closed per Monday’s emergency order, but it’s too hot to be indoors anyways!
