This weekend brings outdoor concerts, a tribute to musical divas and a gender-neutral art show.
Millennial Pink Opening Reception
San Diego Art Institute presents Millennial Pink, an exhibition that celebrates the evolution of queer images.
Shifting away from 1980s and 1990s LGBTQ art that focused on the pain and tragedy of the AIDS crisis, this group show highlights beautiful imagery that embraces sexual fluidity and gender neutrality.
Along with the exhibit, there will also be Millennial Pink-themed events including a documentary screening, a dance party and a storytelling night.
Details: Opening reception is 6 p.m., Saturday. Exhibit continues through Sept. 3. San Diego Art Institute, 1439 El Prado, Balboa Park. Free to $5.
San Diego Gay Men's Chorus Presents Divas
The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus presents Divas, a celebration of beloved and powerful female singers.
You'll hear the music of Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, as well as modern divas like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. From power ballads to anthems, a chorus of 200 singers and dancers will perform this musical spectacular.
