Some Russians Want Nuclear Parity with U.S.

First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov is suggesting that Russia should achieve nuclear parity — at least qualitatively — with the U.S.

Military analyst Alexander Golts says Ivanov's proposal is not a new one. Golts says Russian leaders still look at the idea of having nuclear weapons from the perspective of being a mutual deterrent.

Golts talks to Alex Cohen about the idea from his home in Moscow.
