  • The Athenaeum Music & Arts Library is pleased to present the 2025 spring season of the Acoustic Evenings concert series, beginning May 16. The Acoustic Evenings series at the Athenaeum showcases some of the finest acoustic musicians in San Diego. Multiple acts fill each program, and attentive audiences delight in the intimacy of the unplugged storytelling format. San Diego Music Hall of Fame founder Jefferson Jay organizes and hosts the series. The project advances the Athenaeum’s commitment to support diverse San Diego talent. Acoustic Evenings is an unforgettable and personal experience for San Diego music lovers. The series, continuing through June 6, is set in the Athenaeum’s Joan & Irwin Jacobs Music Room.The series opens on Friday, May 16, with Wax, Cindy Lee Berryhill, and Gayle Skidmore. On Friday, May 23, the series continues with Jimmy and Enrique, Sue Palmer and Liz Ajuzie, and Walt Richards. Taught by Yael Kent, your little one will explore crafts across various mediums. We will explore through sensory activities, crafts and stories while developing fine motor skills.Littles learn best by doing and playing. We practice handwork and workplay. We “play” with natural objects and materials, keeping a consistent rhythm to our time together so that your child gains confidence each time they come. Our projects are planned so that mini makers will build skills while satisfying their need to explore. Projects are safe, non-toxic, earth-friendly, and full of creativity. It’s important that your child bring water in a refillable bottle and a snack (no candy or peanut products please) in case they are hungry or thirsty during our time together. In addition, if your child is enrolled in a nearby camp elsewhere in Liberty Station in the afternoon, and their camp begins as ours ends, we are happy to walk your child to their next camp.
