President Bush is in Colombia today, meeting with President Alvaro Uribe on his five-nation Latin American tour.
Some 2,000 protesters burning American flags and shouting "Down with Bush" clashed with riot police in the capital during the Bush's visit.
At a news conference with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, President Bush was asked about the several thousand additional troops that are being sent to Iraq. Bush said that the additional troops are for support roles only.
"Those combat troops are going to need some support, and that's what the American people are seeing in terms of Iraq — the support troops necessary to help the reinforcements do their job," Bush said.
