LA Psychedelic Pop Band West Indian Girl Plays the Belly Up Tonight
Maureen Cavanaugh : The music of the band West Indian Girl has been described as blissful, starry, psychedelic and totally Southern Californian. But that doesn't mean there aren't a few hard edges to this six-piece band from LA. Take for instance, the name of their CD, 4th and Wall. That's the location of their rehearsal space and studio in a run-down section of Los Angeles. Band members say their music conjures up spirits and visions of a better place for the down and out residents of the neighborhood, and for listeners everywhere. West Indian Girl is playing tonight at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach.
