Unseasonably cool weather, gusty winds and drizzle are expected again Tuesday in parts of San Diego County as a result of a low pressure system now over Central California.
Afternoon high temperatures are expected to run about 5 degrees below average near the coast and up to 15 degrees lower than normal in inland areas, according to the National Weather Service. Predicted highs Tuesday were 70 to 75 degrees near the coast, around 73 degrees in the western valleys, 67 to 72 near the foothills, 64 to 71 in the mountains and 88 to 93 in the deserts.
Forecasters said temperatures in San Diego County would warm back up to around average by the end of the week.
In the mountains and deserts, winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts to 45 mph are expected through Tuesday evening, according to the weather service. A wind advisory for the mountains and deserts will expire at 9 p.m.
Motorists on mountain and desert roadways, especially those in high profile vehicles, were advised to use extra caution because blowing sand and dust may skew visibility.
Drizzle that could make for a slick morning commute may develop west of the mountains. Forecasters said a deep marine layer that is accompanying the cooler weather might produce light showers or drizzle.
