Incoming San Diego City Councilwoman Lorie Zapf named Mayor Jerry Sanders' top governmental affairs aide as her chief of staff today.
Job Nelson will assume his duties for Zapf when she is sworn-in on Dec. 6, replacing Donna Frye.
Nelson oversees city lobbying efforts as the mayor's director of intergovernmental relations.
Zapf said Nelson has a reputation for getting things done.
"As we move from campaigning to governing, I wanted a chief of staff whose knowledge and experience could help me to implement my vision of reform and good government, and Job more than fits that bill," Zapf said.
Nelson has also been a state Senate legislative staffer.
