Impro Theatre’s "Jane Austen UnScripted" gives audiences a chance to imagine the other books she might have written. The company deftly creates a world of love-struck girls, brooding noblemen and charming cads, and although hearts are sure to be broken, true love will win out in the end.   • North City invites families and friends to dive into a free outdoor screening of Disney’s "Finding Nemo" on Friday, July 18. Starting at 5 p.m., movie lovers can enjoy games, hands-on activities, and character meet-and-greets before Nemo, Marlin, and Dory swim across the big screen at 6:30 p.m. Guests will receive complimentary popcorn and can purchase an array of bites from North City’s eateries, including newly opened A Lo Fresco, serving internationally inspired bowls and wraps; Buona Forchetta, preparing fresh pizza onsite from its mobile pizzeria truck; Wynston’s Ice Cream, featuring themed flavors; Maya’s Cookies, offering cookie decorating kits; Milonga Empanadas, grilling choripán sandwiches with Argentine chorizo and chimichurri; and Draft Republic, pouring beer, wine, and cocktails for adults. Our mission is to serve, empower and advocate for San Diego North County's diverse LGBTQI+ community. We have worked tirelessly for more than 10 years to accomplish this goal. The lifesaving services and programs we’ve created have helped thousands of LGBTQI+ people. We are extremely proud that since the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Pride by the Beach has never closed its doors, and has in fact, increased its services to the community. Our reach extends to over 13 cities in the North San Diego region, as well as Camp Pendleton. Some of the programs we have to offer include mental health resources, support groups for our transgender friends, HIV prevention and care, and transitional housing for youth at risk for homelessness.   • The spirit of innovation is alive and well in North County as young entrepreneurs prepare to launch their very own businesses at the Acton Children’s Business Fair on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at North County Mall’s Center Court (First Floor). As the largest entrepreneurship event for kids in North America, the fair provides a unique platform for children up to age 13 to create and showcase their own businesses. From handmade crafts and custom treats to original services and products, each booth is entirely youth-led—designed, marketed, and managed by the kids themselves.
