Female Marines at Camp Pendleton Have Special Mission (Video)

A group of female Marines at Camp Pendleton is preparing for a unique mission when they deploy to Afghanistan this spring. Members of the Marine Corps' Female Engagement Team will be proactively trying to communicate with Afghan women who live in rural areas. According to the New York TImes:

DVIDS reports the 48 members of the FET are currently preparing for their deployment by practicing different scenarios they might encounter when interacting with Afghan women. They also are getting the opportunity to learn two of the most commonly spoken languages in Afghanistan: Dari and Pashto.

Cpl. Daisy Romero (pictured above) will be heading back to Afghanistan for the second time as part of the FET. She tells DVIDS:
