There will be two big job fairs on Thursday, both of which focus on hiring military veterans.
The bigger event takes place at the Double Tree Hotel in San Diego. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is hosting the fair, and at least 100 employers are slated to attend. As Home Post reported recently, veterans have the highest unemployment rate in the country at 9.1 percent. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that rate is even higher for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan ' at 11.7 percent.
