Dog Handler Marine From California Killed In Afghanistan (Video)

The Department of Defense announced today the death of Cpl. Joshua R. Ashley, 23, of Rancho Cucamonga, California.

Ashley was killed July 19 by an IED blast in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Law Enforcement Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

KTTV-TV in Los Angeles reports that Ashley was a Military Working Dog handler. His dog survived the IED blast. Ashley did not.
