Join Cami Árboles for a night of art, music, and dance! Enjoy a night of art and dancing fueled by the artistry of Los Angeles-based artist Cami Árboles and inspired by current exhibition "Women in Focus." This powerful exhibition demonstrates the pivotal role women have played in photography since its invention in the 1830s, showcasing diverse perspectives on identity, autonomy, and representation. The night will feature a captivating performance that brings together yoga, flexibility, and dance combined with opera singing to showcase the power and versatility of the female form. Árboles’ performance piece draws directly from the themes of "Women in Focus," reimagining them through embodied gestures that speak to resilience, sensuality, and the multiplicity of womanhood. Come for the live performance, stay for the full experience. Enjoy a drink from the cash bar, take a stroll through the exhibition, and stay to dance and let loose with music by DJs. Cami Árboles is a multidisciplinary artist and movement educator born and raised in Los Angeles. She is a graduate of Yale University, where she studied and trained extensively in classical voice, opera, and live performance. Her background in vocal performance and physical theater deeply informs her current work, which explores the body as a site of ritual, resistance, and transformation. Árboles is the founder of Mind Body Spirit Collective (MBSC), an international movement platform centering pole dance, yoga, and somatic healing through community. Cami draws from diverse disciplines to create immersive, embodied experiences about womanhood and the female form. Join us for Studio Arts, when OMA transforms into an artist’s studio, offering skill-building workshops led by distinguished professor and arts educator Robin Douglas. “Printmaking on Hand-Made Paper" Create a variety of “papers” using multiple natural materials. The second step will be to print on the newly created paper, wet or dry, to create dream like images with atmospheric qualities. A possible poem or saying may enhance the finished product. Join Southern Caregiver Resource Center at our office for an afternoon of art and networking! We invite community members and affiliated organizations alike to the unveiling of “Portraits in Caregiving”, a series of photographs honoring the caregiving experience. This exhibit captures the essence of family and unconditional love through intimate and tender moments found in the routine of caregiving. Guests will have the opportunity to speak to the photographers as well as the featured caregivers. SCRC’s staff will also be present to give you a tour of our office space, share information about our vital support services for caregivers, and discuss professional networking and corporate partnership opportunities. This reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served throughout the event. We look forward to hosting you! The San Diego Watercolor Society proudly presents “One’s Own Journey”. The water-based media exhibition runs June 1-28, 2025 at our Gallery in The Arts District Liberty Station. The free Opening Reception is Friday, June 6, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. with over 95 ready-to-hang original paintings plus refreshments and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts.
