This week, to celebrate San Diego Botanic Garden’s 55th anniversary year, we’re taking it back to the ’70s with the soulful, funky sounds of The Gravities! Get ready for a high-energy show by a soul/funk band that blends blues, roots, and funk into an unforgettable live experience. Known for their infectious rhythms and energetic spirit, The Gravities will have you dancing from the first song to the last. Don’t miss a funky, full-of-energy night on the Gazebo Lawn! A bar with craft beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and light snacks will be available each night. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Enjoy live music on the Gazebo Lawn featuring Martin Kent on guitar and vocals, Connie Adams on vocals and Rand Anderson on electric and pedal steel guitar. The trio’s lineup includes a wide variety of classic country legends like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, to modern hits from Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift, even featuring some country rock hits from the Eagles and Bob Dylan. A bar with craft beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and light snacks will be available each night. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Enjoy a celebration of Buwan ng Wika, “Language Month”! Families will enjoy a bilingual storytime in Tagalog with local author Dr. Jocelyn Francisco, a traditional Filipino dance performance from Samahan Filipino American Performing Arts & Education Center, and creating paper dolls in traditional Filipino clothing while learning about the history and traditions of the Philippines’ annual holiday.
