Step into the world of the "Kumeyaay Visual Storytelling Project" — a bold and immersive exhibition showcasing a comic book created by Kumeyaay Tribal Historians Ethan Banegas, Michael Connolly Miskwish, Lorraine Orosco and Stanley Rodriguez. Through vivid imagery and community-driven narratives, visitors will experience the living history, language and traditions of the Kumeyaay people, presented in comic book form. Comic books are a dynamic format for sharing underrepresented histories, blending art and storytelling to amplify voices too often left out of mainstream narratives. For AAPI Heritage Month, San Diego’s Pac Arts Movement and MTS are unveiling a new Pronto card and bus wrap by local artist Koy Sun, celebrating the rich culture and community found in the city’s Asian grocery stores.

Join Southern Caregiver Resource Center at our office for an afternoon of art and networking! We invite community members and affiliated organizations alike to the unveiling of “Portraits in Caregiving”, a series of photographs honoring the caregiving experience. This exhibit captures the essence of family and unconditional love through intimate and tender moments found in the routine of caregiving. Guests will have the opportunity to speak to the photographers as well as the featured caregivers. SCRC’s staff will also be present to give you a tour of our office space, share information about our vital support services for caregivers, and discuss professional networking and corporate partnership opportunities. This reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served throughout the event. We look forward to hosting you!
