The library program will consist of a storytime about the topics of peace and friendship and a Japanese-themed craft activity, followed by a live on-camera Zoom session with Futtsu, Japan for the bell ringing ceremony. The event, in cooperation with Carlsbad’s Sister City, Futtsu, Japan, will commemorate 77 years of peace since the first use of an atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan.
