In Two: Riot and Reckoning, England descends into a bloody civil war. The York family is intent on overthrowing King Henry VI and claiming the throne for themselves. King Henry’s side, the House of Lancaster, refuses to give up the crown without a fight. Though the king himself prefers his books to the battlefield, Queen Margaret proves to be a fierce warrior, and the people of England clamor for change as leaders on both sides jockey for position and battle for power. The Wars of the Roses pit family against family in a cruel campaign that turns England upside down. Who will come out on top? Acclaimed Shakespeare director and the Globe’s Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein turns the rarely produced Henry VI, Parts I, II, and III into a thrilling two-part event, running simultaneously through the summer in our beautiful outdoor theatre. These adaptations include everything people love about the Bard—ingenious language, vibrant characters, breathtaking battles, and sweeping crowd scenes—as they explore the impact of national politics on individual lives. And the action is framed by a design team working at the very top of their craft, and a sprawling cast of professional actors and local community members. Disney trips that were meant for homeless students in New York City public schools were used by school employees' families instead, according to a report released by the district earlier this month.

Queen Bee’s Art and Culture Center, a community space and beacon for artists in North Park, San Diego, is thrilled to be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. At the forefront of enriching the vibrant arts and culture scene in San Diego, Queen Bee’s has served as a nurturing haven where artistry flourishes, allowing for creatives of all walks of life to come together to express their talents in a welcoming community. Since 2008, Queen Bee’s has faced many challenges and achievements, and now, the community is invited to commemorate this anniversary milestone with a celebration on Tuesday, December 12 at 12:00 p.m. The donation-based community event will feature food and drinks, live performances from artists such as Rudy Francisco, Gilbert Castellanos, Mercedes Moore, Zzymzzy Quartet and Gregory Page, along with a proclamation from San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria. At 6:00 p.m., attendees are encouraged to grab their dancing shoes and participate in swing dancing classes featuring live swing music. The evening will be a night to remember! The donation-based event is open to the public and attendees must RSVP here. Queen Bee’s will be taking donations to be able to continue to support the arts for years to come. Known world wide as The Queen of Boogie Woogie, The Sultana of Swing, and The Lady Who Skates on the 88s, Sue Palmer has been a presence on the live music scene in San Diego and the world for over 30 years. She was inducted into the San Diego Music Hall of Fame in 2018, has had a day named after her by the city of San Diego in 2008, and has won numerous San Diego Music Awards for her bands and albums. She has recorded over 12 albums under her own name, securing an international award from The International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis for Best Self Produced Album (Sophisticated Ladies). She was the beehive wearing music director and longtime pianist for blues diva Candye Kane, through the 90s, appearing on many of her albums, touring world wide (France, Germany, England, The Czech Republic, Turkey, South Africa, Australia, and more) as well as all over the US and parts of Canada. Sue has also toured Switzerland, Russia, The Netherlands, and Argentina under her own name. She had a radio show for 3 years on San Diego's local Jazz station KSDS 88.3FM, and now hosts a podcast called "The Motel Swing Happy Hour KSUE San Diego."
