About Barbara Baxter Barbara Baxter studied wine academically at the Sorbonne in Paris and has continued her inquiry into the heritage of wine for more than a decade. She created visitor education programs for Francis Ford Coppolaʼs Rubicon Estate and has worked for Napa Valleyʼs most prestigious wineries: Sterling Vineyards and Opus One. She is the editor of Planet Wine and has also made wine in Napa Valley. Baxter has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, has lectured at major museums and universities in California, including the Getty Malibu, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Athenaeum Arts & Music Library, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Orange County, and The Huntington. The thirty minute work for three voices and small ensemble features singers Emily Barger, Julia Anne Cordani, and Miguel Zazueta. Peter Maxwell Davies' "The Medium" is a portrait of a character whose life is shrouded in mystery. Is she a mystic, a person without a country, the victim of an unspeakable crime? Davies' monodrama, featuring mezzo soprano Julia Anne Cordani, is a vocal and emotional tour-de-force that is timely and unforgettable.   • The popular North Park eatery launched Mabel's Gone Painting, a rotating art exhibit featuring resident artists and community events. "We live in a world where it's hard to make a living making something with your hands and to be supported by your neighborhood.
