In this 2-part pottery class, kids will design and sculpt their very own whimsical homes–perfect for garden fairies or friendly frogs. In the first 2.5 hour session, children will learn hand-building techniques to shape their magical dwellings from clay, adding creative touches like leaf roofs, mushroom chimneys, lily pad porches, and more. In the second 1-hour session, held two weeks later, they’ll bring their creations to life with vibrant paints and glazes. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after class. A longtime North County coffee shop has something new brewing, with the help of a Grammy-award winning musician. A financial investment and a return to '90s coffee house culture are creating a community hub for the arts in Oceanside.

Working with a life model, students will learn to identify and depict the core “gesture” of any pose. Emphasis is on short poses with the goal of increasing our ability to capture the body in motion. By focusing on the “verb” of the pose, and not the “noun,” we will explore the storytelling potential of the figure. This is an excellent class for those interested in animation and the entertainment arts or for anyone looking to inject more dynamism into their life-drawing practice.
