She earned her Masters degree and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts focusing on Theater Arts, costuming and stage makeup. She was a founding member of the PACT Theatre out of New York and Gross National Product Comedy team in Washington DC. She's been a director, actress, production and administrative assistant and an active member of advisory boards. (Somewhere along the line she also earned her MA in Teaching ESL!) Bringing new projects to theatre companies, Catherine has acted as producer, director and Assistant to the Playwright for the award-winning show, "Pushcart Tony" in Chicago. On the West Coast, Catherine has written reviews for several productions including for Carlsbad's New Village Arts. Ms. Greitzer has acted and directed at Oceanside's Brooks Theatre as well as with Fallbrook's Senior Theatre, "AGE Upon Stage." Catherine is SO happy to continue working with adults at FSA's "Readers Theatre" and after school with teens in "ACT UP! A Teen Drama Club." She has a master’s degree in painting in Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art, where she studied at the portrait-genre workshop under the guidance of professors Victor Chaus and Vasily Ganotskiy. Among her many accolades, she has been a curator of the Drawing Studio at the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia. In 2017 she opened a studio of academic painting ‘V-ART’ and taught painting, drawing, plastic anatomy, coloring, and composition at the collegiate level. In 2022, she was evacuated to the USA due to the war in Ukraine. Over the past 2 years she has created around 300 paintings, and takes part in art shows throughout San Diego. “I think it is, like musical notes, that in painting, we do not have borders, we do not have words, and we have Inspiration… Pure Inspiration is indescribable; you can just feel and take it. That’s precisely why I would like to share these paintings, which were created in San Diego County and reflect the light and landscapes that inspire me every day. ENRICHING FOSTER YOUTH – We help to expose foster youth to the arts with a focus on visual arts, music and performing arts in local venues by partnering with local foster organizations. BOOK BUDDIES – We assist students to become lifelong learners by collaborating with their teachers to encourage reading by practicing reading either in person or online in a one on one or group setting. OPERATION LOANER HEARING AID – We provide short term loaner hearing aids for newborns to young adults up to 21 who are waiting for replacements which can take 6 months. We also provide long term use for low-income families and children with significant hearing loss. We partner with San Diego United School District (East and South Counties) and SDSU Audiology Department. SNEAKERS FOR MILITARY PRESCHOOLERS – We provide sneakers, Bombas socks, sweatshirts, pants, pajamas, sunsuits and jackets for children of enlisted military personnel in partnership with STEP (Support the Enlisted Program). TWAIN HIGH SCHOOL – We provide recognition events to support students in this alternative high school program on the main campus, Mira Mesa, Morse, Crawford and Hoover High School campuses. We also provide financial scholarship support for students attending one of San Diego’s community colleges. UPPER DIVISION SCHOLARSHIPS – We provide scholarships for fulltime students who have completed community college and are transitioning to an accredited college or university in pursuit of a four-year degree or continuing in those community colleges that offer baccalaureate degrees.
