Tom Fudge: $1800. Now what am I going to do with $1800? Buy a flat-screen TV? Put it in an IRA? Give my car a new paint job? The reason I'm asking myself that question is I'm pretty sure $1800 is the swag my family and I are entitled to, as a result of the Congressional tax rebate plan. Now you may think I'm just thinking about myself, and my wife and kids, when I ponder new purchases. But I'm actually being a patriotic American. This money is part of the economic rescue plan by the government. The theory is: Americans get money, buy stuff, and the economy gets better. Make sense?
