Eggstravaganza at Birch Aquarium

At Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, spring is all about eggs — shark eggs, seahorse eggs, even penguin eggs! During the aquarium’s annual Eggstravaganza celebration, guests explore the diversity of eggs in the ocean, create an egg-themed craft, and go on an underwater egg hunt — no basket required!

The event takes place April 9-10 and 16-17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Be on the lookout for baby sharks, seahorses, octopuses, and more while you discover how ocean animals take care of their eggs.

All Eggstravaganza activities are included in admission, which is $24.95 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 3-17. Advanced reservations are required for all guests, including members.

The aquarium is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, however Eggstravaganza festivities end at 3 p.m.
