Tom Fudge : As a president, George W. Bush has been nothing if not controversial. He tends to split the nation along many issues. As far as his domestic policy goes, liberals have roundly criticized him for his tax cuts. Those cuts, they say, have heavily favored the rich and they have caused the budget deficit to balloon. In a press conference this week, the president defended his tax cuts, pointing to a shrinking budget deficit.

Glenn Hubbard is the former economic advisor to President Bush and has played a major part of the Administration's tax cuts and other policies. He is in town for a speaking engagement at UC San Diego.
