Last year, the hot button domestic issue leading up to the mid-term elections was immigration reform. Some believe that Republican Brian Bilbray defeated his opponent because of his hard-line stand on illegal immigration. After all the debates, headlines, protests, and emotion, very little has happened to change the immigration laws.

Republicans defeated the president's preference for a guest worker program and a path to citizenship for the many millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States. One measure that did pass both houses funded a fence all along the border with Mexico. Will this be the year for immigration overhaul?
